El justo Simeón, sagrado Atlante,
ha en sus manos al cielo sostenido,
antes al Autor de ellos reducido
a forma humana de pequeño infante.

Al Calvario también fue semejante
(altar para el cordero prevenido),
pues al padre en sus brazos ofrecido,
cifrado vio lo que se alzó adelante.

Así anunciando al mundo su alegría,
y el cuchillo y dolores a la Madre,
pide la muerte (en tal razón clemente);

porque entonces sus labios Dios movía,
con ellos pronunciando lo que al Padre
Eterno protestaba interiormente.
