Aunque el bélico pecho y animoso
de tal manera a Orlando le ha ensalzado,
que está en suprema cumbre levantado,
pues en todo ha salido victorioso,

no menos por tu pluma fue dichoso,
Orlando en ser de ti tan celebrado,
que tanta fama y gloria has tú alcanzado,
cuanta él con ser en armas valeroso.

El postrimero límite y subjeto,
donde otros no pudieron allegarse,
desde allí comenzó tu vuelo altivo:

ha hallado don Martín tu gran conceto
entre furia y amor determinarse:
dio este corte y falló superlativo.
