Bien sé yo, Cintia, el culto que se debe
al que de dos sustancias desiguales
tan superiores forma los mortales,
que es cada cual un dios de un mundo breve;

y que este honor le obliga a que se eleve
sobre el ser de las obras naturales,
y asaltando esas máquinas fatales,
viva unido a la causa que las mueve;

y soy con esto a quien tu amor desvía
del uso de este gran conocimiento
por la divinidad de tu hermosura;

y a venerarte vive tan atento,
que gime si tal vez se le figura
que puede tener fin su idolatría.
