Filis, yo te aborrezco, y de manera,
que pasara contento con mi suerte
si el cielo, para sólo aborrecerte,
sin otro gusto, edad me concediera.

No es ímpetu de afecto el que me altera
de los que el tiempo o la ocasión divierte;
ira es sagrada, generosa y fuerte,
que agradable en el alma persevera.

¡Oh, cuán ufano estoy de que tu halago
(aunque virtud sencilla lo intitules)
sea voz de sirena y faz de arpía!

Vengado quedo pues, no disimules;
que al fin dependes de mi cortesía,
pues me puedo vengar, y no lo hago.
