- CLVII - A Madrid, cuando se trataba de mudar la Corte a Valladolid

Volverse han muchos a labranzas toscas,
que fueron sus primeros ejercicios;
tratarán los magnates y patricios
en rubias mieses y vacadas hoscas.

Dejarán las culebras ya sus roscas
en que enlazaban huéspedes novicios;
andarán los casados en sus quicios,
pues le dejan en paz su miel las moscas.

Viviráse con gusto y más sin arte,
y cesará el hablar por cartapacio,
engomar el copete y frente lucia,

y las mohatras en igual descarte.
En faltando la Corte, Rey, Palacio,
aunque limpia, Madrid será muy sucia.
