Rompe la tierra, y en el centro afila
el buey pesado la esplendente reja;
de varias flores, la discreta abeja
en ruecas de oro, rayos de sol hila.

No sólo labra el ruiseñor, perfila
nidos de paja, que en las ramas deja,
de hurtada hierba, la inocente oveja,
nevados copos, al vellón destila.

Mano enemiga su labor desflora;
triunfan malos, y trabajan buenos,
discanta el grajo, lo que el cisne llora.

Gozan por propios, los que son ajenos,
que en los premios del mundo, no es de ahora,
que el que merece más, alcance menos.
