De antigua palma en la suprema altura,
con los sacros olores del oriente,
para su parto y muerte juntamente,
hace la fénix nido y sepultura.

Mueve las alas para arder segura,
que el fuego a su esperanza está obediente;
y así, sus llamas fieles más luciente
la restituyen a la edad futura.

De esta manera en la sagrada palma
de nuestro alto valor arder presume
mi pensamiento alegre entre sus ramas;

que vuestro ardor da vida al que consume;
y así, no es temerario el que a sus llamas
entrega el gran depósito del alma.
