Émulos, Cintia, son o imitadores
de la verdad, que en tus alientos huele,
los que inspira Favonio cuando impele
las sujetas al arte o libres flores.

Y aunque para asaltar faustos olores
entre esperanzas que maduran vuele,
con cuyo desempeño premiar suele
la industria y la paciencia a los cultores.

Más puro y limpio olor que de ninguna
rústica suavidad robar pudiera
del que a tus labios su fragancia envía;

pero tu honestidad ruda o severa
no ha de admitir en ellos la porfía
con que anhelan dos almas por ser una.
