Viéndome Fili en brazos de la muerte,
heroicamente se movió a clemencia,
y a su altivo decoro dio licencia
para inclinarse a remediar mi suerte.

Sintió el sujeto, de poder más fuerte
que el natural, la dulce violencia;
que amor en el crisol de la experiencia
los accidentes en salud convierte.

Si ya no huyeron, Fili, de la gloria
que allí vieron salir de tu belleza,
que en su presencia es todo luz y vida;

atónita quedó naturaleza,
contra sus mismas leyes socorrida,
y preciándose amor de la victoria.
