Ningún hombre nació para admitido,

Mal se queja el mejor de aborrecido,
que en daño de razón no hay desdichado;
sobra el ser hombre ya para culpado,
y basta ser amor para ofendido.

No estén las hermosuras, no, quejosas
del común desacierto de la dicha,
que no hay suerte mayor que ser hermosas.

¡Oh tantas veces ignorada dicha!
Que si un hombre pudiera hacer dichosas,
no fuera menester otra desdicha.
