- XXVII - A la poca seguridad de la privanza

Peregrino, no soy del tiempo vano
si no ejemplo, terror de su trofeo;
me dio luces el sol, ya no le veo,
subí, enfermé, bajé, recordé sano.

Si del sueño volviera más temprano,
no fuera, no de la fortuna reo,
pues pagara de humano lo que veo
y no lo que no vi de soberano.

El vuelo fue cruel no la caída,
violento el uno, el otro sin violencia,
la entrada alegre y triste la salida.

Los que estáis en la altura de esta ciencia,
buscad el norte para hallar la vida,
que no la habéis de hallar sin la experiencia.
