A la luz de un Planeta poderoso
vivo, ignorando el rayo que recibo,
y tantas veces con eclipses vivo
cuantas se opone el tiempo riguroso.

No vivo, no, que el Cielo luminoso,
cuanto más claro está, se muestra esquivo:
luce interior y dudo si percibo
el fuego que se oculta artificioso.

No espero claridad si amor no inclina
al ingrato rigor de su sosiego
la general de estas murallas mina.

Con ella podré ver y quedar ciego,
que no se alcanza esfera tan divina
sin abrasarse en la región del fuego.
