Pasajero que miras sin cuidado
ese cadáver que viviente ha sido,
repara que de achaque de nacido
le castigó su original pecado.

Lo que pálido ves, ya fue rosado:
lo que sin alma ves, tuvo sentido,
y lo que está sin material oído,
órgano fue y estuvo bien templado.

Mírale bien, que aunque su vida es ida,
la tiene en el ejemplo pues advierte
a su soberbio polvo su partida.

Juzga ahora quien goza mejor suerte:
el que vive faltándole la vida
o el que muere sobrándole la muerte.
