Cuidada navecilla, ¿quién creyera
que osaran estas olas ofenderte,
viéndolas otro tiempo obedecerte,
como si tuyo el mar soberbio fuera?

Tus bienes les he dado, y persevera
su saña; no sé ya como valerte;
el arte dejo en manos de la suerte,
para que ella te arroje adonde quiera.

Bien sé que se aplacaran al momento
sí, como le he dado la esperanza,
entregara también el pensamiento;

pero avéngase ya con su bonanza;
que más quiero morir en mi tormento
que vivir con infamia en su mudanza.
