Recibe, oh sacro mar, una esperanza,
a cuya causa pueblos mil devotos
están hoy ofreciendo justos votos,
porque la restituyas con bonanza.

Reducid, fieros vientos, a templanza
vuestros desordenados alborotos;
dad ocio, no experiencia, a los pilotos;
vuestra quietud usurpe su alabanza.

Del poderoso Carlos la alta popa
sienta vuestro favor, y en su deseo
concurrid con España y con Saboya.

Con esto enmendaréis el caso feo
de haber dado al adúltero de Troya
pasaje favorable contra Europa.
