Vista la redondez del hemisferio
y que un gobierno sólo no bastara,
dividieron el cetro y la tiara,
y en dos partes partieron el imperio.

Este partir, que no fue sin misterio,
hermosísima bizca, nos declara
la perfección que vemos en tu cara,
ocupada en diverso ministerio;

porque así como el mundo fue decente,
para tener los súbditos delante,
repartir las potencias y la gente,

así, señora, es bien que en un instante
con el un ojo mires al poniente
y con el otro mires al levante.
