Sobre cinco azucenas recostada
en un tapete de la Primavera
dormía Venus, la que fue primera
luz de los Orbes y del mundo amada.

Andaba en torno de su luz sagrada
una simple avecilla lisonjera,
goloseando los rayos de su esfera
a la llama de Venus condenada.

Diana, que sintió rascar la rosa,
que el mismo sol a rayos solicita,
dijo por halagar la mariposa:

Si quieres que el agravio te permita,
no receles de amor la llama hermosa,
que su fuego da vida y no la quita.
