- XXVIII - A la ingratitud

Esta que horrible la nobleza infama,
Hidra que eterna inficionó la vida,
parto fue de la infamia retraída,
mina fue de la más traidora llama.

Su efecto desleal que el mundo ama
(bárbara causa, sí, del homicida),
tirano monstruo es de toda herida,
cruel lunar de toda noble fama.

No debe, no, tener lugar en cuanto
alumbra el Sol ni su influencia espere
el que asiste en el Reino del espanto.

Vivir no puede quien la muerte adquiere;
que el que se niega a este precepto santo,
no es hombre: es fiera y como fiera muere.
